HISTORY OF OXFORD EDUCATIONAL NETWORK
Oxford Educational Network – International University of Fundamental studies
The Oxford Educational Network constitutes a consortium of universities, colleges, and schools operating under a Royal Charter granted by Charles I of England in 1640. Originally bestowed upon Wolsey Hall at Oxford, the Charter holds historical significance, as Wolsey Hall, named after Cardinal Thomas Wolsey (1471-1530), underwent rebranding to Christ Church College. The network, now spanning locations in England, America, Canada, Central America, South America, and Italy, has evolved since its inception.
In 2002, the Oxford Educational Network formally accredited and affiliated the International University of Fundamental Studies, St. Petersburg (currently located in Moscow). The seal of the Oxford Educational Network – International University of Fundamental Studies (IUFS) was entrusted to Professor Santhi Jayasekera, serving as the custodian of IUFS records. Subsequently, in 2005, he registered a branch of IUFS in the State of California.
The President of the Oxford Educational Network, Archbishop John Parnell, and the President of the International Theological University in Pasadena, CA, USA, Archbishop Professor Chieft Swift Eagle, wholeheartedly endorsed and supported Rector Professor Santhi Jayasekera in advancing educational initiatives in collaboration with the Oxford Network.
